Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company in Hawthorne, NV, seeks a Security Chief to develop and administer industrial security programs for the Hawthorne Army Depot. The role ensures compliance with DoD requirements, key and badge controls, investigations, and supervision of the Security staff on site.

The position may require a DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship. This on-site role emphasizes safeguarding personnel, facilities, and classified information while coordinating with government partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 4+ years of security operations experience, including DoD facility security and at least 2 years supervisory experience.
• Facility Security Officer certification required or must be obtained/maintained per requirements.
• Valid State of Nevada driver's license and PILB registration/license required or must be obtained/maintained.
• Must be able to secure and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop Security division policies, goals, and budget inputs; ensure compliance with government requirements.
• Maintain auditable key control and badging systems; liaise with law enforcement and security stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain security plans, SOPs, standing guard orders, and Depot Protection Plan materials.
• Develop procedures for investigation and reporting of security incidents; supervise security devices and locks.
• Supervise Security staff; provide direction, performance input, and staffing recommendations.
• Report safety, environmental, or security concerns and uphold Company ethics and standards.
