The role focuses on identifying and controlling chemical, biological, and physical health hazards in lab and outdoor environments, while ensuring compliance with DOE and PNNL requirements.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Sciences, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant work experience conducting industrial hygiene surveys and exposure assessments.
MS/MA in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Sciences, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant work experience conducting industrial hygiene surveys and exposure assessments.

Responsibilities

Serve as the worker safety and health and industrial hygienist supporting research activities.
Identify, evaluate, and control chemical, biological, and physical health hazards in laboratory and outdoor environments within the framework of DOE and PNNL requirements.
Conduct inspections, exposure monitoring, surveys, and studies related to laboratory research and ensure accurate completion of comprehensive technical reports and exposure documentation.
Perform industrial hygiene sampling, analyze data, interpret results, and develop recommendations to mitigate occupational health risks.
Develop and recommend effective control measures, work practice changes, and exposure mitigation strategies.
