Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks an IOSHA Industrial Hygienist to help improve worker safety by conducting site inspections, sampling, and reporting. You will educate employers and employees on IOSHA standards and develop safety programs, with travel across Indiana to diverse worksites.

A degree is not required, and the role offers extensive state benefits. Essential duties include preparing detailed reports, collaborating with INSafe and federal partners, and delivering training to various audiences.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply Federal and State occupational health regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for training and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and inspections across Indiana.
  • Proficiency with standard office software for record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site consultations to ensure IOSHA compliance with safety standards.
  • Analyze program administration and operations for regulatory compliance.
  • Educate employers and employees on IOSHA standards and best practices.
  • Provide training to employers and the public on hazard recognition and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and complete technical reports and site visit documentation.
  • Coordinate with INSafe, IOSHA peers, and other agencies to stay updated on safety laws.
  • Travel frequently to inspect sites and complete reports at client locations.
