Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates in Oak Ridge, TN seeks an Industrial Hygienist to support a safe, health-conscious workplace by identifying and controlling occupational hazards. The role develops and administers industrial hygiene programs and collaborates with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership to manage exposures and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include exposure assessments, IH program implementation, data analysis, and training delivery on topics such as

Qualifications

• Education or background in Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• 2+ years ES&H experience with IH emphasis in DOE or regulated environments.
• Experience with air sampling, noise dosimetry, IH instrumentation.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH criteria, and exposure practices.
• Strong analytics to evaluate monitoring data and recommend controls.
• Effective communication and training across departments.
• Experience using IH software and data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain industrial hygiene programs addressing chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
• Conduct exposure assessments, including air sampling and noise monitoring.
• Analyze exposure data and recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOE, and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain IH records and support audits and inspections.
• Develop and deliver IH training on respiratory protection and related topics.
• Participate in JHAs and risk assessments; collaborate across teams.
• Provide guidance on exposures and PPE selection to reduce risks.
