Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to provide broad technical expertise and program management for campus-wide health and safety programs at University Park. The role supports multiple locations including Commonwealth campuses and research sites.

Responsibilities include evaluating exposures, developing control measures, managing EHS programs, and coordinating emergency responses. A CIH is required, with a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene practices and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate exposures to airborne contaminants, noise, temperature extremes, and ergonomic stressors.
• Develop recommendations to control health hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage assigned EHS programs and provide implementation guidance to University personnel.
• Review ventilation and gas monitoring plans to ensure safe working conditions.
• Lead incident responses coordinating with EHS staff, campus units, police, fire, and contractors.
• Maintain program data and records per regulatory and University requirements.
