SUMMARY:

Halliwell is looking for experienced industrial hygienists to add to our growing and collaborative team. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated technical expertise in biological or chemical science or occupational health with knowledge of how to successfully evaluate conditions associated with building science and forensics. Candidates should be able to perform work associated with the identification, recognition, and control of the indoor environment. These roles involve collecting data to identify damage to the built-in environment. Certifications in asbestos, mold, or lead are encouraged. Knowledge of forensics and building science, litigation, and the insurance vertical are preferred, but not required.

Industrial Hygienists are assigned key projects, which are of a technical nature and may include working with the company’s existing relationships with a client/group of clients ensuring quality service. Ideal candidates will be comfortable in a team-based role, with solid education and communication skills. This position reports to and works alongside Regional Directors.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collection of field data, from conditions observed and documented in various properties, including air, bulk, and surface sampling.
2. Use of field instrumentation, such as thermography, IAQ meters and pumps, etc. with training and certification provided.
3. Collaborate with other colleagues to complete project work.
4. Work with clients and other colleagues (engineers, construction consultants, etc.) to problem solve regarding outcomes and recommendations.
5. Report documentation based upon principals of forensic science.

Key Requirements include:

1. Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical science. Graduate degree a bonus.
2. Five to fifteen plus years’ experience as a professional Industrial Hygienist.
3. State certifications for mold (where applicable), asbestos, or lead.
4. Additional certifications, such as CSP, CIH or CHMM are encouraged.
5. Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
7. Approximately 20% travel.
