Job description

Position: Industrial Hygienist

Location: hybrid Berkeley, CA (3 days a week, 2 remote)

Duration: PERM full salary plus benefits

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene
• Experience performing workplace assessments

Day to Day Operations:

• Responsibilities Conduct hazard identification and exposure assessments through field observations, worksite reviews, environmental studies, and root cause investigations to ensure a safe campus environment.
• Provide technical expertise and consultation on industrial hygiene topics (e.g., indoor air quality, chemical safety, noise, PPE), including training and regulatory compliance support (e.g., CCR, Title 8).
• Develop, manage, and improve health and safety programs, including the Hearing Conservation Program and DURT (Designated Urgent Response Team), and contribute to safety process integration within campus operations.
• Investigate incidents and reported concerns, analyze injury trends, coordinate with stakeholders, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Serve as an emergency responder during business and non-business hours for urgent safety issues, including chemical spills, and support the campus Emergency Operations Center during disasters.
