Job summary

Dow Chemical is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician for their Freeport, Texas plant. The role supports IH management systems, conducts exposure assessments and assists in monitoring programs to meet safety goals.

You will work closely with IH Specialists and the IH Manager to ensure procedures, standards, and controls are effectively implemented on site. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.
• 2+ years of manufacturing/EHS experience preferred.
• Experience in hearing conservation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements detailed IH programs at the plant using IH work processes and standards.
• Serves as Section owner for the IH portion of Operating Discipline.
• Acts as the plant resource for IH procedures, guidelines and standards.
• Plant contact for IH and health issues.
• Performs and documents employee exposure risk assessments for chemicals, noise, ergonomics, radiation and other IH items.
• Coaches teams and individuals on IH tasks and activities.
• Coordinates IH monitoring and reporting activities with the plant team.
• Manages IH monitoring equipment and ensures timely return.
• Participates in IH reviews and projects as needed.
• Coordinates audit schedules in IH areas.
• Investigates incidents and ensures corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinates with IH Experts and Health Services for medical surveillance.
