Job summary

Genset Services, a factory authorized distributor for Generac Industrial Power Systems in South Florida, seeks a skilled generator service technician to perform repairs and start-up tests.

The role involves troubleshooting engines from Kohler, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo, traveling to customer sites, and responding to emergency service calls. Relevant experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service experience with power generation equipment.
• Knowledge of engine maintenance and troubleshooting for natural gas or diesel systems.
• Familiarity with safety devices, wiring, and transfer switches.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and services on all makes and models of generator sets.
• Inspection, repair, service, and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and services generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems.
• Apply proper engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance tests.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines such as Kohler, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo.
• Maintain assigned vehicle inventory and able to travel throughout the local counties.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years of service experience with power generation equipment
• Working knowledge of engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems
• Knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, heating products, and transfer switch operations
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
• Preventative maintenance and service experience with ability to travel locally
• Valid driver's license
