Job summary

Genset Services is seeking a generator service technician in South Florida. You will perform repairs and services on various generator sets, including inspection, troubleshooting, and engine tests.

Travel locally to client sites and respond to emergency service calls to ensure uptime for commercial and residential installations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of service experience with power generation equipment, knowledge of engine maintenance, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service experience with power generation equipment.
• Working knowledge of engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems.
• Knowledge of power generation; light towers, pumps, heating products, and transfer switch operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and services on all makes and models of generator sets.
• Inspection, repair, service, and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and services generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems.
• Apply proper engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance tests.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines such as Kohler, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo.
• Maintain assigned vehicle inventory and able to travel throughout the local counties.
• Respond to emergency service calls.

What you’ll bring:

• Working knowledge of engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems.
• Knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, heating products, and transfer switch operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams.
• Preventative maintenance and service experience with ability to travel locally.
• Valid driver's license.
