Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Generator Installation & Maintenance Technician for projects across Welkom, Free State and surrounding areas. The role covers the full lifecycle of generator installations, from setup and integration to ongoing maintenance and emergency repairs.

We require a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently on site, ensuring minimal downtime for clients' critical operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of standby power systems for various industrial and commercial clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of generator installations, from initial setup and integration to ongoing maintenance and emergency repairs. A strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, combined with excellent diagnostic skills, is essential. This is a contract position offering significant flexibility and competitive compensation for skilled professionals in the Welkom region. Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service a wide range of industrial diesel and gas generators.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and preventative checks on generator sets.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on generator systems.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations.
• Ensure all installations and services meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Manage service schedules and respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain accurate service reports, parts inventory, and work logs.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during site visits.

Requirements
