Job summary

Air Liquide Norco, LA is seeking a Production Technician to operate start-up and shut-down of Air Separation Units, nitrogen generators and high- purity oxygen compressors. The role requires attention to safety permits, lockout/tagout and daily rounds, with a focus on maintaining process safety and equipment integrity.

You will work with SOPs, blueprints, and P&IDs, perform documentation, and support contractors while maintaining housekeeping and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Associates degree preferred.
• 2+ years of technical training or operations experience.
• Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA, FDA, state/local).
• Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
• Ability to use computers—Microsoft Office.
• Good verbal/written communication skills to deal with management and customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate start-up and shut-down of Air Separation Unit, Nitrogen Generators and High Purity Oxygen compressors.
• Carry out daily safe work permits and lockout/tagout requests.
• Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and PMs.
• Maintain high housekeeping and organizational standards.
• Read and interpret SOPs, blueprints, flow charts, P&IDs, ISOs and electrical schematics.
• Keep accurate records and documentation per procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of control board and operator interfaces.
• Collaborate with contractors and visitors on safety policies.
