Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a Fireproofer to prepare and apply fire protection systems and coatings. You will read blueprints, determine material requirements, and ensure proper application using cement, gypsum, and acrylic. Ideal candidates have 4 years of Journeyman level experience and a valid driver’s license. The position is on site and emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to company policies

Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply fire protection coatings using cement, gypsum, and acrylic.
• Read blueprints and data to determine requirements for the job.
• Select amount and type of fireproofing and method of application based on surface shape.
• Demonstrate installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of fireproofing materials.
• Organize and order material as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
