Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking an Equipment Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Windows-based software that interfaces with industrial equipment. You will use C#/.NET and AI-assisted tools, work across software, controls, electrical, and mechanical teams, and ensure reliable, safe operation of manufacturing systems.

Hybrid schedule in Fulton, MO with travel up to 10% domestically and internationally. A strong background in troubleshooting and industrial automation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience developing Windows applications with C# and .NET.
• Experience with desktop technologies like WPF or WinForms.
• Experience designing clean, maintainable software and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support Windows-based equipment software using C# and .NET.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment-related problems across software, electrical, sensors, and mechanical systems.
• Integrate software with PLCs and industrial equipment using Modbus/OPC.
• Serve as final software-support escalation point and document findings clearly.
• Develop automated tests, diagnostic tools, and validation processes; use AI-enabled tools for test creation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and support equipment installations.
