Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the operation of production machinery and the maintenance of facility equipment. You will engage in repair, modification, and installation of new and existing equipment to keep the plant running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, and the ability to read blueprints. You may work overtime or weekends as needed and contribute to a safe, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

3+ years’ work experience in maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
Basic PLC programming knowledge.
Ability to read and understand blueprints—electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic.
Steel manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication and power transmission systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical operating systems and equipment.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment including cut-to-length lines, shears, and overhead cranes.
Minor repairs to buildings and help maintain HVAC equipment.
Participate in cycle counts of spare parts and materials inventory.
Use tools such as precision tools, drill press, power saw, grinders, threaders, pipe cutters, drills, hoists, wrenches, etc.
Overtime, weekends and shift changes may be required.
Punctuality and attendance are important to the operation and team.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
