Daikin invites students to join a Summer Internship for Industrial Engineering at the Houston area facility. The 11-week program emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on work on meaningful manufacturing projects.
Interns will perform both individual and group work, engage with robotics initiatives, and network across functions to gain exposure to core manufacturing processes and continuous improvement activities.

During the internship, college students will:

Seeking a professional, skilled individual for the role of Industrial Engineer for our Houston, TX facility. In this role, you will be responsible for quantification and improvement of manufacturing processes, cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives, processing and implementing engineering changes and introduction of new products on time and within budgets.
Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of robotics to increase production quality, efficiency or volume
Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product
Plans and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts of products and to promote efficient utilization
Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximizes product reliability and minimize cost
Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Performs / implements classical IE work such as line and work element balancing, time studies, labor efficiency and workflow improvements, Plant floor layouts, updates, and improvements
Maintain plant floor layouts, updates, and improvements. Create operator method sheets to assure production rates and quality. Maintain method sheets as product or equipment specification change
Develops manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization. Performs capacity planning and provides solutions for cost cutting through process upgrades
