Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Intern - Industrial Engineering for a hands-on, fast-paced environment in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. The intern will support diverse tasks from administrative duties to strategic manufacturing initiatives and will gain exposure to real-world projects.

You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a graduation window between Dec 2027 and Dec 2028.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with graduation between Dec 2027 and Dec 2028.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (PCB manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, casting, forging, machining, tooling, fixture design).

Responsibilities

• Support or individually resolve issues related to product safety, manufacturing production processes.
• Act as a technical advisor to suppliers and participate in development projects as a manufacturing representative.
• Assist colleagues as a constructive team member to ensure task success.
• Research, plan and implement manufacturing process improvements.
• Refine and cost-reduce manufacturing processes and products.
• Able to manage, organize and prioritize tasks.
