Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Intern - Manufacturing Planner for Summer 2027 in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. You will join a global leader driving digital transformation in urban transit.

The internship offers real-world projects, paid compensation, mentorship, and opportunities to gain hands-on experience with our production planning team while you develop practical skills in a real manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.
• Current Junior or Senior at a 4-year university with expected graduation between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with production planning software (SAP) is welcomed.
• Analyze production data and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in reporting.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Support planning manager and team with data analyses and process improvements.
• Participate in developing and documenting procedures for consistency.
• Provide project status updates to superiors.

• Provide project status updates as required
• Works under close supervision of the Planning Manager

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Current Junior or Senior at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite

Languages

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
