Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles seeks an Industrial Engineer Intern for a 10-week summer program in Cartersville, GA. You will build plans, tooling, and processes for components and assemblies, redesign tooling for better operator environments, and analyze layouts for improved product flow.

Responsibilities include creating standardized work, addressing quality concerns with actionable improvements, and exploring new equipment to reduce scrap and downtime.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Microsoft Office applications and CAD knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
• Redesign tooling to improve operators’ work environments.
• Analyze layouts and production processes to improve facility layouts for product flow.
• Create reference documents and standardized work for new or improved processes.
• Analyze quality concerns and implement improvement ideas.
• Explore new equipment and software to reduce scrap and downtime and optimize production flow.
• Monitor and improve key supply chain KPIs such as PPM, line disruptions, and NCMT closure days.
• Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and enhance the product.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with stakeholders.
