Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles in Cartersville, GA is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern for a 10-week summer program. You will build plans, analyze processes, redesign tooling, and collaborate with experienced professionals on real projects to prepare for a career in manufacturing engineering.

The internship offers mentorship, hands-on project work, and a prepaid stipend, with education in ME/IE/Manufacturing and CAD/MS Office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field required
• Software knowledge includes Microsoft Office applications and CAD
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
• Strong mechanical aptitude and drive to complete tasks and assignments

Responsibilities

• Build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
• Redesign tooling to improve operators’ work environments.
• Analyze layouts and production processes to improve facility layouts for product flow.
• Create reference documents and standardized work for new or improved processes.
• Analyze quality concerns, make recommendations for improvement, and implement ideas.
• Explore new equipment and software to reduce scrap and downtime and optimize production flow.
• Monitor and improve key supply chain KPIs including PPM, line disruptions, and NCMT closures.
• Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and investigate improvements.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with stakeholders.
