Job summary
Reader Precision Solutions in Elkhorn, WI is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to apply lean and continuous improvement concepts in a precision manufacturing setting. You will work with Engineering and Production to analyze processes, develop practical improvements, and contribute to meaningful projects.
Responsibilities include time studies, value stream mapping, CAD-based design support, and documenting work instructions.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Experience with CAD software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collect and analyze data to identify improvements.
Responsibilities
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to evaluate and improve processes.
- Develop value stream maps and analyze part and process flows.
- Design and optimize work cells for efficiency and ergonomics.
- Create and update work instructions for consistent operations.
- Conduct time studies and quantify opportunities for efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement changes.
- Complete an internship project and present findings to the team.
