Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Intern - Industrial Engineering to thrive in a fast-paced environment in Batesburg, SC. You will support a broad range of activities from administrative to strategic, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to manufacturing processes and product development.

Current students pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with an expected graduation between December 2027 and December 2028, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams.
• Experience working with or creating BOMs and Routings for components.
• Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing environment (PCB, electromechanical assembly, casting, forging, machining, tooling, fixture design).
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite.

Responsibilities

• Support or individually resolve issues related to product safety and manufacturing processes.
• Assist colleagues as a constructive team member to ensure task success.
• Research, plan and implement manufacturing process improvements.
• Refine and cost-reduce manufacturing processes and products.
• Manage, organize and prioritize tasks.
• Create written instructions and provide oral instructions clearly.
• Proficient in MS Windows and MS Office.
• All efforts impact quality, delivery, cost and efficiency.
