Job summary

Nissan is looking for an Industrial Engineering Intern in Canton, MS. You will join a team of engineers focusing on cost reduction, labor planning, and capacity analysis, analyzing production processes and driving efficiency in a complex manufacturing environment.

You will work cross-functionally across departments to support improvement initiatives, develop action plans, and present results. This internship runs full-time for 12 weeks, for undergraduate juniors or seniors, onsite in Canton, MS.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• Junior or Senior year at start of upcoming term.
• Strong initiative in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Basic Lean manufacturing knowledge for process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct elemental analyses of production zones to assess operating conditions.
• Analyze production and labor data to identify improvements, efficiency gains and cost reductions.
• Develop action plans and present recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to implement improvements.
• Assist with labor planning, capacity analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation communicating progress and results.
