Job summary

Nissan is seeking a Process Engineering Intern in Decherd, TN, for a 12-week, full-time program. You will work alongside skilled engineers to learn highly automated engine production processes, lead a department project, and develop skills in project management and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates are junior or senior engineering students in ME, IE, Mfg, or Mechatronics with strong organizational and communication abilities and a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• Junior or Senior at the start of the upcoming academic term.
• GPA of 3.0 or above; transcripts may be requested during application.
• Ability to perform work onsite at Decherd, TN.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; willingness to learn and contribute in a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support highly automated engine manufacturing processes.
• Partner with engineers to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Develop project management skills through involvement in engineering initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Lead a department project from planning through execution and present findings to department leadership.
• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, safety, productivity, and manufacturing performance.
