Job summary

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern for our Blytheville, AR facility to participate in process improvement on the plant floor. You'll analyze production data, conduct time studies, and work with operations, quality, and finance to reduce waste and improve yield while reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager.

This full-time, on-site internship runs May 24, 2027 through August 13, 2027 and is ideal for students pursuing an engineering degree who

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related engineering field (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science or Systems preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Analyze prime net yield data to identify trends and maximize production profitability.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and finance teams to investigate root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage Excel documents to support data tracking and reporting.
• Propose and develop process improvement techniques aimed at reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
• Conduct time studies across different production stages to develop KPIs.
• Measure process outputs to identify equipment capacity and bottlenecks.
• Maintain accurate daily records of observations and data.
• Collect and analyze data using statistical tools to evaluate current process performance.
• Assist in testing and validating process improvement experiments.
• Summarize findings and present actionable recommendations to site leadership.
