Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs invites students to join the Industrial Engineer Co-Op, with Spring or Summer terms. You will work alongside industry leaders to study workflows, perform time studies, and analyze production data to develop labor standards.

This hands-on experience builds life-long professional connections and potential for future full-time employment. The program emphasizes a best-in-class internship, with university partnerships to provide co-op opportunities and exposure to real-world steel

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in Industrial Engineering or related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist in studying job descriptions and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and identify areas of duplication.
• Assist with work measurement programs and perform time work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Assist with analyzing work force utilization, facility layout and operational data, such as production costs process flow charts, and production schedules.
• Various other tasks as needed

Location: Middletown, OH

Co-op term may be completed during either the Spring (January to May) or Summer (May to August) semester, with timing to be discussed during the interview process.

As an Industrial Engineer Co-Op at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Industrial Engineering or other related technical degree
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
