Job summary

Mercor is seeking industrial and manufacturing engineers with 2-3 years of experience or postgrad students for a research project with an AI lab. You will complete real process and production engineering tasks on a Mac to help benchmark AI models outstandingly.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree in industrial or manufacturing fields and have lean/Six Sigma or data-analytical experience. This part-time role offers flexible hours and immediate start for dedicated learners.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook or Mac with Apple M-series or Intel, macOS 15+ required.
• Engineering degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with process design, lean/Six Sigma, production planning, quality control, or supply chain analysis using spreadsheets, CAD, process-mapping, or statistical tools.
• Currently pursuing or completed Masters or 2-3 years of experience + Bachelor's from a top institution.
• Ability to clearly explain engineering decisions while working.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Role Overview:

Mercor is looking for industrial and manufacturing engineers with 2-3 years of professional experience, or currently enrolled postgrad engineering students, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real process, operations, and production engineering workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with process design, lean/Six Sigma, production planning, quality control, or supply chain analysis using spreadsheets, CAD, process-mapping, or statistical tools

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your engineering decisions while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Details:
