Job summary

MPI is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a leading global manufacturer of metal fabricated appliance products near Chicago. The role focuses on launching new products, optimizing processes, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will partner with engineering and operations to evaluate designs for manufacturability, lead continuous improvement, and support PFMEA/DFMEA and process validation to ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Development, or Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and operations teams to successfully launch new products into manufacturing.
• Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and scalability.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to ensure production readiness.
• Design and implement fixtures, tooling, and workholding solutions.
• Analyze throughput, labor utilization, and production costs to improve operational performance.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and Lean improvement activities.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve flow and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence and problem-solving across the organization.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs and collaborate on DFMEAs and process validation.
