Job summary

Morgan Truck Body, part of the J.B. Poindexter & Co. family, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to develop labor standards and optimize material routings across product lines.

You will partner with Advanced Manufacturing to support new product launches and drive continuous improvement in processes and operations. The role focuses on labor standards, routing management in ERP, time studies, BOM maintenance, and cost estimation, with travel up to 60% as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and/or manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Leadership experience with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Labor standards development and optimization across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales.
• ERP routing management and alignment with production processes.
• Time studies to validate standards and identify efficiency improvements.
• Maintain bills of materials and item master data for new product launches.
• Develop labor cost estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and implement efficiency improvements.
• Identify labor-saving opportunities and support capital investment justifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve product designs for manufacturability.
• Create and maintain clear work instructions for standardized operations.
• Coach Offshore Engineering team to build capability and consistency.
• Travel up to 60% based on business needs.
