Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, systems, and resources to improve efficiency and reduce waste. The role focuses on analyzing workflows, designing layouts, and implementing continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methods and advanced technologies.

The engineer will collect data on production rates and costs, drive data-driven decision-making, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Lean SIX SIGMA Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.
• 2–4 years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workflows, production processes, and systems to identify inefficiencies.
• Develop strategies to improve productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize costs.
• Design plant layouts for optimal material flow and space utilization with ergonomic and safety considerations.
• Collect and interpret data on production rates, resource utilization, and quality metrics; use statistical tools and simulations to guide decisions.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma or other CI methodologies to optimize labor, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate MES and ERP systems.
