Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Kentucky is seeking a Process Engineer responsible for developing, standardizing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives, introduce new products, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Strong emphasis on Lean Six Sigma and PFMEA. The role also supports process validation, SOPs, and training of hourly team members in a plant

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of engineering experience.
• Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• 2-4 years of engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and improves manufacturing or production processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
• Adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout all process operations.
• Diagnoses and resolves process-related problems to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Applies Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Creates and maintains process flow diagrams, SOPs, and technical reports.
• Works with design, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless process integration.
• Assists in scaling up and validating processes for new products or technologies.
• Ensure machinery and tools operate within specified parameters for optimal output.
• Provide technical guidance and training to hourly team members, and other staff on process changes or best practices.
• Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to integrate digital tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned
