Job summary

Autocar, LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize our heavy-duty production lines. You will partner with manufacturing, engineering, and sales to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support customized truck builds that meet exact customer specs.

Responsibilities include time studies, layout design, SOPs, lean initiatives, ERP and automation integration, and data-driven KPIs. A bachelor’s in IE or related field is required, with 1–3 years in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/ Certified Manufacturing Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize heavy-duty truck assembly processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Design and implement efficient production layouts, workflows, and workstation configurations using lean principles.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and simulations to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions to drive consistency and efficiency.
• Support automation, ERP systems, and other technology to improve scalability and delivery timelines.
