Job summary

HARTING Americas, a subsidiary of HARTING Technology Group, seeks an Industrial Engineer for our Elgin, IL facility to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes for NPIs. You will plan resources, estimate costs, and support PFMEA while interfacing with global teams.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering (incl. 2+ years with injection molding), CAD/SAP proficiency, strong communication, and travel flexibility; a Bachelor’s in IE or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or comparable specialized training; extensive experience may substitute for the degree.
• 5+ years engineering experience in a related industry with at least 2 years in injection molding product methodology.
• Proficient with Windows-based applications and AutoCAD.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent written, oral and communication skills.
• Understanding of QC principles; knowledge of project management and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and industrialize manufacturing processes for assigned projects, including planning, procurement, and implementation of required resources (machines, fixtures, tools).
• Calculate manufacturing costs (injection molding, assembly, etc.).
• Support PFMEA’s and create process flow charts and production layouts for NPIs.
• Create production-related views in SAP (routing, BOM, equipment, work center, calculation).
• Collaborate with local production Industrial Engineers to analyze capacity impacts of NPI.
• Assess and estimate investment costs for projects and locations.
• Create specifications for required production equipment.
• Participate in evaluating concept studies and potential projects for location decisions.
• Drive coordination of global change requests and advance product development process standards.
