Job summary

HARTING Inc. of North America is seeking a Manager of Application Engineering (Hybrid in Elgin, IL). You will lead the North America Application Engineering team, including Field Application Engineers and senior technical consultants, ensuring timely, high-quality support for customers, distributors, and Sales.

Responsibilities include guiding design-in activities, resource planning, KPI management, and knowledge transfer. Expect 20–30% travel and a focus on alignment with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant application engineering or related experience.
• Experience leading distributed technical teams.
• Willingness to travel 20-30%.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales support, solution selection, BOM development, and customer presentations.
• Lead a team of Field Application Engineers and senior technical consultants; prioritize resources and KPIs.
• Establish scalable knowledge-transfer systems, playbooks, onboarding, and training resources.
• Coordinate with product management, engineering, and global teams on customer issues and training.
