Job summary

Garmin International in the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a full-time Industrial Engineer 2 to lead projects focused on the layout design of workspaces and to enhance productivity.

The role requires analyzing ergonomics, testing new processes, supporting packaging tooling, and contributing to design reviews. It also involves cost analyses, lean methods, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Process Engineering or related field with 1 year of experience
  • GPA ≥ 3.0 as a general rule
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools and processes
  • Understanding of warehouse, manufacturing and service processes

Responsibilities

  • Lead small projects related to layout design of workspaces
  • Analyze and implement ergonomic improvements in operations
  • Develop experiments for process and quality improvements
  • Support packaging projects and tooling setup
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Perform basic cost analyses for new equipment
  • Apply lean tools and estimate effort for tasks
  • Analyze data to identify quality trends and root causes
  • Design custom tooling for applications
  • Mentor less experienced industrial engineers
