Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineer (or Principal Industrial Engineer) for the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory site at Rocket Center, WV. The role is onsite only and will focus on eliminating waste, improving processes, and optimizing capacity across manufacturing lines.

The position requires a STEM degree with 2+ years (or a Master’s with 0) and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Proficiency in MES, Excel, Tableau, and factory modeling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in STEM with 2 years in engineering, manufacturing or data analysis (or Masters with 0 years).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
• MES experience and proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Experience with data mining, data analysis or data visualization (Tableau).
• Experience with factory simulation/modeling (FlexSim).
• Preference for Industrial Engineering in manufacturing and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Positively impact the financial bottom line by eliminating waste and improving processes.
• Use modeling, data analysis and simulations to identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows.
• Design layouts, Kanban, and flow simulations for manufacturing lines.
• Create Value Stream Maps and conduct time studies on production processes.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Program Office and Finance on capacity analyses.
• Support program briefings and capacity discussions with customers and internal teams.
• Lead continuous improvement events across value streams and assets.
