Barnes & Noble, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer to analyze Reno, NV warehouse operations and drive performance improvements.

This on-site role reports to the Director of Industrial Engineering and Analytics, focusing on ROI-driven projects that optimize storage, throughput, and labor management. Responsibilities include documenting processes, creating case studies, and leading initiatives with stakeholders across the distribution network.

Qualifications

• BS degree in IE, Supply chain, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Distribution Centers.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes (inventory planning, warehouse, order, and labor management).
• Experience in Slotting and deploying Labor management.
• Experience working with large data sets and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand warehouse operations, identify delays and opportunities to increase productivity.
• Set up DC metrics (inventory movement, capacity, inbound/outbound activity, service levels).
• Support growth of the distribution network and design of new DCs.
• Document SOPs, process flows, and work instructions.
• Lead ROI evaluations and project timelines for warehouse improvements.
