Job description

SUMMARY


Under minimal supervision, determines the best manufacturing methods and processes for our products, including equipment, tooling, materials and facilities. Develop plant layout, design and workflow processes. Introduce automation into the assembly process. Develop and implement work instructions to standardize work procedures. Recommend procedures that will result in cost savings, quality improvement and maximization of production, using kaizen and value stream principles.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Determines the best manufacturing methods and processes for our products, including equipment, tooling, materials and facilities.

  • Assists with plant layout, design and workflow processes.

  • Develops and implements written work instructions, flow charts and other visual aids to streamline and standardize work procedures in a team-based environment.

  • Recommends procedures that will result in cost savings, quality improvement and maximization of production, using kaizen and other state-of-the-art techniques.

  • Develop plans around automating assembly processes.

  • Assists with employee training and supervision as needed.

  • Conducts time and motion studies and gathers other relevant data to assist with efficiency studies.

  • Familiar with CAPA 8D process and continuous improvement.

  • Completes Action Items determined from root cause analysis

  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience in developing and sustaining manufacturing processes and in applying Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills and be detail-oriented. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology to a green or black belt level a plus.

  • Supply chain management experience and/or systems integration

  • Familiarity with 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design software

  • Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of statistics and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Must have the ability to maintain accurate and organized production processing records.

  • Intermediate knowledge of electronic principles and advantage.

  • Intermediate knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be proficient with Excel or other spreadsheet software; familiarity with MRP systems preferred.

  • Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills.



  • Detail oriented with troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.

  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
