Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Manchester, Iowa, is seeking an entry-level Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing, design review, and production functions. You will work with senior engineers to evaluate and solve everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process, and supplier issues, gaining hands-on experience on the factory floor.

The role emphasizes Root Cause Analysis, process improvement, and documentation control, with training on current methods and capital equipment analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM major.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for product.
• Recommend solid engineering solutions for design problems and coordinates implementation with Production Manager and Design Engineering.
• Supports evaluation of production and design changes.
• Analyze and develop justification for capital equipment using sound cost/payback analysis.
• Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate equipment needs.
• Identify new approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM major
