Job summary

c3controls is seeking an engineering intern in Kentucky to design and implement new production work-cells and assembly lines, and to evaluate improvements for existing production. You will serve as a technical resource in manufacturing engineering with exposure to lean and process-improvement tools.

The role emphasizes hands-on industrial engineering work, time and motion studies, line balancing, operator training, and development of work instructions in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited B.S. Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent Degree Program.
• Completed core industrial engineering classes (e.g., productivity analysis, probability & statistics).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite of programs.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the industrialization of new products, including: Creating new work cells and assembly layouts; Performing time and motion studies; Work balancing and sequencing; Material presentation; Operator training.
• Applies engineering principles, practices, and problem-solving techniques to a wide range of manufacturing initiatives
• Utilizes lean, six sigma, and other continuous improvement tools to increase productivity and improve quality
• Researches and implements new and existing technology to increase productivity or improve quality
• Creates and updates work instructions
