Job summary

KB Signaling Inc. seeks an Industrial Engineering Intern to support manufacturing process improvements, data collection, and lean initiatives in a hands-on environment.

You will assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and the creation and maintenance of work instructions and process documentation. Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0 GPA and strong Excel skills; onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools preferred
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives
• Collect, analyze, and report production and operational data
• Assist with time studies and workflow analysis
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
• Support development and maintenance of work instructions and process documentation
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance
• Support capacity planning and production line optimization efforts
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
• Assist with layout planning and material flow improvements
• Support implementation of standard work and visual management practices
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
• Assist with tracking project progress and documenting results
• Support health, safety, and environmental initiatives
• Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned
