Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Irving, TX invites applications for an Industrial Engineer Co-Op from undergraduate students in Supply Chain, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering. The 6-month program runs January through June 2027 with a 40-hour work week on-site at the Irving location.

You will support manufacturing, engineering and quality tasks, applying Lean/Six Sigma and project management practices to improve process efficiency and cost.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial or Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
  • Actively practice continuous improvement on the production floor and listen for opportunities to enhance the manufacturing environment.
  • Spend approximately 80% of working time on the manufacturing floor and 20% in an office environment.
  • Have experience with MS Office Tools, Advance Excel.
  • Knowledge Power Apps is highly desirable; Power BI is a plus.
  • Requires fluency in English and Communication skills.
  • Experience working in a professional environment.
  • Have a passion for a career in Manufacturing Supply Chain industry.
  • Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, the candidate will be assigning and execute one of the Supply Chain projects that increase process Efficiencies, Reduce cycle time, Improve Cost, and improve overall quality of execution within assigned department using project management methodologies (I.E. FPX).
  • Makes significant improvements in the assigned areas by using process excellence methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
  • Undertakes and successfully completes simple or basic project/product development tasks to include any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications, maintaining product/process documentation, testing processes, equipment, raw materials and product, and validating equipment and processes.
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results. Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed and based on the project assign.
  • At the end of the program, the co-op will have the opportunity to present the results to the A&R Texas Leadership Team.

We are searching for the best talent for Industrial Engineer Co-Op to be in Irving, TX.

The Co-op term is from January to June, 2027.

Purpose: Manufacturing Supply Chain Co-Op Program at Johnson and Johnson Texas A&R is a comprehensive learning and professional experience at one of the world's leading health care companies. This program is designed to build a future pool of candidates for full-time entry-level Production and Engineering Analyst roles, which a Co-op Season may pursue upon successfully completing the internship and their degree program.

Program Components:

You will apply for one overall Texas A&R Co-Op position which will provide eligibility for specific department opportunities across Manufacturing functions. The average duration is 6 months of full-time work. Position offers to work in-site in our Irving location 5 days a week. The position may involve a range of manufacturing assignments and may include experiences with one or more of the following departments: Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality.
