Full time requirement (40 hours per week) Purpose The Automation Specialist Co-Op will gain hands‑on experience supporting manufacturing automation and operational technology systems in a regulated MedTech environment. The student will work alongside automation engineers and cross‑functional teams to support equipment reliability, automation projects, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing technical and professional skills.
Completion of Undergraduate Freshman Year at an accredited University is required. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering. Or other related technical fields Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, reflective of all college coursework. Must remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the Co‑Op term. Available to work full‑time (40 hours per week) from January through December 2027. Must be able to work onsite five days per week in Añasco, Puerto Rico. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams). Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and technical documentation skills.
Academic, laboratory, project, or hands‑on exposure to: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) Industrial Control Systems HMI / SCADA Systems Robotics and Automation Technologies Industrial Networks and Communications Sensors and Instrumentation Electrical Systems Data Collection and Technical Troubleshooting Exposure to platforms such as Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Ignition, Wonderware, Factory Talk, or similar technologies. Interest in Manufacturing Automation, Operational Technology (OT), Digital Manufacturing, Data Integrity, and Cybersecurity. Leadership experience through student organizations, community service, research projects, or extracurricular activities.
