Job summary

Slate is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our Indiana-based team. You will drive the Slate Production System (SPS) development, optimize General Assembly processes, and support new product introductions with PFMEA and control plans.

You will lead continuous improvement projects, reduce waste, enhance safety and quality, and collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Production and Supply Chain to align manufacturing strategies.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in Industrial Engineering in automotive/manufacturing with IE responsibilities.
• Proven track record in General Assembly, process optimization and plant launch experience.
• Start-up experience desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the Slate Production System (SPS).
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
• Support issue resolution for General Assembly issues from plant, field, and suppliers.
• Optimize plant layouts, tooling, material flow and waste management.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects for cost reduction, productivity, and quality enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing strategies.
• Support NPI and launch readiness activities, including PFMEA and control plans.
• Monitor KPI performance and develop dashboards and action plans.
• Provide Lean training and mentoring to operators and team members.
