Chipton-Ross is seeking a Industrial Engineer (Level 2) for a contract opportunity in Everett, WA .

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business related curriculum such as: Business Administration, Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Economics
  • 1 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducts analysis of current and future business environment using established guidelines. Develops forecast, acquisition, and utilization plans to optimize resources in support of company initiatives and program business plans under the guidance of experienced analysts. Develops and maintains basic Business System factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning. Contributes to the development of labor hour estimates for new or revised production and tooling work packages under the guidance of experienced analysts. Monitors performance to established labor hour estimates. Under the guidance of experienced analysts, assists in the development of integrated tool and production master schedules by developing tool and position plan/documents, tool downtimes, rate flow plans, #1 flows, and tool sequencing plans to maximize the Assists in the identification and implementation of improvements to processes by analyzing current processes and utilizing established improvement methodologies to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to support company improvement initiatives. Under guidance of experienced analyst, analyzes changes to approved plans resulting from unplanned events. Assesses the impact of the changes that occur to cost, schedule, resources, and delivery. Develops modifications to existing plans and obtain approval. Participates in negotiations representing Production and Tooling Operations to support schedule commitments or statement of work impacts. Under the guidance of more experienced analysts, develops, implements, maintains, and statuses complex integrated shop operating plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to reduce inventory and meet cost and schedule commitments. Gathers and analyzes shop performance metrics in order to support a recommend plan of action for Production and Tooling Management. The role includes utilizing manufacturing knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams from production operations, engineering, quality, supplier management, materials management, and program management to achieve organizational business goals and objectives. The role will also include stabilizing the production environment, implementing lean methodologies, assessing and performing to rate readiness, and improving quality through root cause analysis. The candidate will be a liaison between 1st and 2nd shift operations teams - capturing and completing Industrial Engineering actions and requests and tying in with 1st shift counterparts.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):
  • Analyzing performance to daily schedules or orders
  • Learning the production processes to ensure correct sequencing and resource alignment
  • Reducing or eliminate safety and ergonomic issues
  • Identifying quality defects trends through root cause analysis and providing recommendations to reduce or eliminate defects
  • Providing recommendations on process improvements that reduce non value-added work which would improve cost and flow.
  • Managing disruption recovery plans using resource capacity and constraint analysis and integrating with leaders of downstream work statement to communicate impacts to schedules and major milestones
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a team environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing and knowledge of lean principles
  • 1 or more years of experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience in data analysis and developing metrics to drive results and business improvements.
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Proficient in structured problem solving.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to crouch down, semi-mobile, walk, and climb stairs while performing duties throughout the day.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Business Administration, Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Economics (e.g.Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience , 7 years' related work experience, etc.). ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

FULL TIME/SECOND SHIFT; 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
