Job summary

CSP Innovations North Carolina, LLC is seeking an Industrial Engineer-intern or entry-level engineer to support manufacturing improvements. You will develop work standards, perform time studies, and analyze capacity to enhance workflow and reduce costs on the plant floor.

The role involves data collection, testing, and analytical tasks in office, lab, or manufacturing settings, with opportunities to independently handle average-complexity assignments while aligning with customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or science.
• Internship or work experience in engineering, automotive, or manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of standard industrial engineering techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain work standards for direct labor and machine cycle times.
• Perform time studies, line balancing and capacity analysis.
• Study operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
• Participate in lean manufacturing projects and cost-reduction programs.
• Aim to minimize operational costs.
• Conduct work sampling studies for indirect labor.
• Support optimization of labor and processes to reduce costs.
• Carry out capacity analysis for short- and long-term planning.
• Conduct research, testing, data gathering, and engineering analyses.
• Execute solo engineering assignments of average complexity.
• Compile data and analyze results for team reviews.
• Continue to develop engineering knowledge and capability.
• Ensure designs and analyses comply with IATF and ISO procedures.
• Ensure customer requirements are met.

Essential Job Functions

• Creates & maintains Work Standards for direct labor & machine cycle times used for manufacturing performance standards.
• Performs time studies, line balancing & capacity analysis.
• Conducts studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
• Participates in continuous improvement projects & cost reduction programs using lean manufacturing techniques & industrial engineering tools.
• Results in minimizing operational costs.
• Performs work sampling studies for indirect labor.
• Results in optimization of labor and processes thereby minimizing manufacturing costs.
• Performs Capacity Analysis and related studies used for short- and long-term manufacturing planning.
• Performs research, testing, data gathering, measurements, or engineering analysis in an office, laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Engineering assignments of average complexity may be performed independently.
• Independently compiles data and analyzes results for project or team review.
• Demonstrates increasing knowledge and capability as engineering experience increases.
• Designs, testing and analysis must comply with IATF and ISO procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science.
• Previous internship, work experience, or knowledge of engineering, automotive, or manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard Industrial Engineering techniques.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

• Job requires substantial time working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• May occasionally lift or carry light items (up to 50 pounds).
• Job requires sitting, standing, and walking, mostly at the incumbents discretion.
• Normal visual acuity required for computer work.
• Position requires exposure to noise, temperature extremes, moving parts, and fumes in a plant environment.
