Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a Material Flow Engineer to optimize end-to-end material movement across receiving, production, and shipping. You will apply lean techniques to identify bottlenecks, design efficient material handling systems, and support plant layout changes and new product launches.

Job Responsibilities:

• Material Flow Optimization: Analyze current-state material movement from receiving through shipping to identify bottlenecks and eliminate waste using lean tools such as value-stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, time studies, and line balancing.
• Material Handling Systems: Design, select, and implement efficient material handling methods and equipment, including AGVs/AMRs, tugger routes, forklifts, flow racks, point-of-use storage, and ergonomic dunnage/packaging solutions.
• Process & Layout Improvements: Support plant layout changes, new product launches, and workstation redesigns by defining optimal material presentation, replenishment strategies, and supermarket structures.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in kaizen events focused on improving internal logistics, material flow, ergonomics, and delivery accuracy. Drive standard work development and visual management improvements.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve material flow issues, implement system changes, and ensure smooth operational execution.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and ensure all material movement processes comply with safety, ergonomic, and regulatory standards. Support improvement initiatives that reduce handling risks and improve workplace safety.
