Job summary

Magna Exteriors is hiring for a manufacturing support role in Spring Hill, TN. You will help establish processes, assist leadership, and cover shifts as needed while maintaining tools, quality, and safety across assigned areas.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience; forklift certification is required and an AS in a technical field is preferred. A strong team player with good math and communication skills is essential.

Responsibilities

• Establish processes and procedures for assigned work areas.
• Assist the Supervisor in department operations; perform supervisory tasks in supervisor's absence.
• Support area staffing as needed to cover workload.
• Maintain all hand tools and ensure good working condition.
• Perform job-specific training for employees in assigned areas.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards, customer requirements and procedures.
• Troubleshoot process problems.
• Implement Engineering Changes for assigned areas.
• Perform audits to ensure procedures are followed.
• Review first hour production and monitor hour-by-hour performance; conduct problem solving.
• Inspect part quality to ensure standards are met.
• Review, summarize and interpret statistical data.
• Provide forklift operator training to ensure safety compliance.
• Manage electronic order information, transfer data to PLCs, update line build info, monitor scanners.
• Maintain attendance and overtime as required.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Participate in department meetings.
• Complete documentation of activities.
• Submit cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Specific Job Duties

• Helps establish processes and procedures for their assigned work areas.
• Assists the Supervisor in the operation of the department, performing some supervisory tasks in the absence of the supervisor.
• Assist work area if additional manning is required to cover the work area.
• Maintains all hand tools and ensures that they stay in good working condition.
• Performs job specific training for employees in assigned areas.
• Maintains current knowledge of quality standards, customer requirements, and operating procedures for all jobs in their assigned areas.
• Troubleshoots process problems.
• Implement Engineering Changes for assigned areas.
• Perform audits to ensure procedures are being followed appropriately.
• Check equipment and fill out Pre-shift Inspection Checklists.
• Reviews and reports first hour production. Continue to review hour-by-hour performance and conduct problem solving as required.
• Inspect quality of parts being produced to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Reviews, summarizes and interprets statistical data.
• Provide forklift operator training to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Manages the electronic order information, transferring data to PLC’s, updating the line build information, and monitoring hand scanner/printer operation.
• Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Participates in department meetings.
• Completes documentation of activities as required.
• Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Required: One year continuous work experience.

Preferred

• Must be able to have working knowledge of all the positions in the work area.
• Must have good problem-solving skills.
• Must have good computer skills.
• Must work well with others. Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Must have good math skills.
• Must have a forklift operator’s license.

Educational Requirements

Required: High School diploma or GED

Preferred: A.S. in technical field, or related technical courses

Physical Requirements

Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation.
