Job summary

Nesco Resource in Claremore, OK is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize the layout and flow of manufacturing operations for air-cooled heat exchangers. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, capacity planning, and process design while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity and integrate new technologies.

Occasional travel for vendor selection, auditing, and equipment evaluations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required; master's preferred.
• 5+ years in industrial engineering or manufacturing optimization in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of process layout optimization, workflow management, and production systems design.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools for layout and process flow design.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across departments.

This role leads continuous improvement initiatives, capacity planning, and process flow design while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and integrate new technologies. This position includes occasional travel for vendor selection, auditing, and equipment evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize the physical layout of the production floor to improve workflow, reduce material handling time, and enhance overall efficiency in the manufacturing of air-cooled heat exchangers.
• Develop and implement strategies to streamline process flows, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve cycle times across all production stages.
• Lead continuous process improvement initiatives by applying lean principles and industry best practices, optimizing production flow, equipment usage, and personnel efficiency.
• Assess current production capacities and work with management to propose equipment upgrades or layout changes that accommodate future growth and demand fluctuations.
• Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure new product designs are manufacturable with optimized production layouts and minimal disruption to existing operations.
• Identify and analyze production inefficiencies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and improve equipment layout, and lead the planning and integration of new equipment to improve flow and minimize downtime.
• Create and maintain documentation related to process flows, layouts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other operational guidelines.
• Implement cost‑saving initiatives related to production layout, equipment use, and material handling while maintaining high product quality.
• Partner with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to implement manufacturing solutions and resolve issues related to product flow or equipment functionality.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing optimization, preferably in a production environment.
