Application review occurs bi-weekly, with the next review on November 8, 2024, after 4:00 PM Pacific Time. The position requires in-person pre-employment testing.
Under supervision, performs skilled duties in inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, overhauling, maintaining, and repairing large industrial engines (natural gas and diesel). Tasks include working with controllers and sensors, and performing related duties. Employees may be required to be on-call, including rotating shifts, weekends, and emergency responses.
The ideal candidate should have skills in designing, installing, wiring, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining microprocessor-based engine controllers, sensors, and engine management systems. Experience with operating and repairing generators, pumps, gearboxes, and pollution control systems is also desirable.
Within three months, gain knowledge of district policies and facilities; by six months, be able to stand on-call; and within 12 months, attain a California Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Haz-Mat endorsements.
This role involves working with large engines, electrical systems, and adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The position is entry-level to journey-level, with opportunities for growth and development.
